Site Title: Bulusan Genealogy Site
URL:
http://bulusan_genealogy.tripod.com
Alternate
URL: http://members.tripod.com/bulusan_genealogy
Goal:
The site aims to document the genealogy of
the Municipality of Bulusan, Province of Sorsogon
-- and hopes to be a rich ground for the cultivation of
such values as fraternity, peace, unity, &
pride in the hometown.
Mission:
To provide online
Buluseños & those who believe themselves to
be of Buluseño ancestry -- an avenue where they can start tracing their
roots or even commence building their online
"family tree"
Vision:
A closely-knit family of Buluseños moving as
one towards the realization of their individual
dreams, and supporting each other for their
hometown's and the country's greater good -- all
for the glory of God
Brief
History: The site actually started from a
brief diagram of the webmaster's own family tree.
Having just finished Glimpses of Bulusan
,
a tourism-oriented website, he thought of building
a new one -- this time, a genealogy site. He
immediately signed up for a free account with
Tripod and uploaded trial pages with the said
server. The date was 24th of August
2001. Then, he started collecting as much
Buluseño family names as he could --both from
memory and from printed sources. Due to some
pressing school requirements that had to be met,
he had to set the project aside.
On
the 27th of November 2001, he picked up where he
left off, and
proceeded on working at an average of 7
hours a day until the 9th of December 2001, the
day the site finally went on its real maiden
voyage.
